The Animated Series' Showrunner Has Seen Fans' Second Season Bingo Cards — With Some Good News

The much-anticipated Season 2 of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel debuts on the streaming platform soon, and audience theories has been widespread.

The first season introduces a large cast of characters residing in the afterlife, sets them at odds with songs about their clashes, and establishes tense rivalries and emotional bonds that fuel fan obsession.

The fandom's stated hopes for season 2 vary widely, but certain themes emerge over and over: Will a fan-favorite character break free from Valentino? Might we learn more about the mysterious "deal" constraining Alastor the Radio Demon? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Naturally, I don't make the show with fan service as the main goal," the showrunner commented recently. "But I believe that me being a devotee of the series means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to happen, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator says her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have already been green-lit by Prime Video and A24, which finance the series.

That might mean viewers have to be patient for some of the major resolutions — but they may be surprised at how quickly the new season progresses, and how many of what they're anticipating unfolds now.

"I feel like people are going to get a lot out of it," the creator notes. "There are several debut moments. I think we receive some really amazing disclosures, some really cool origin tales, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience much more singing from the previously silent cast members."

The creator is well-informed of the theories and desires about season 2 — especially in the format of fan bingo cards.

"I've come across a few fans create a bingo card about season 2," she mentions. "Naturally I can't post it, but I've already completed a few items, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 launches on Prime Video on October 29.
